Malteser International is the international humanitarian relief agency of the Sovereign Order of Malta. In the Middle East Region, Malteser International (MI) is operating in the context of the humanitarian crisis in Syria since 2012 implementing emergency relief measures in Türkiye, Syria, and Lebanon and since 2014 in Iraq. Since 2024 MI is supporting our local Partner in food assistance and in the health sector for people in Gaza.
To support the establishment of a medical point in Gaza city Malteser International is looking for qualified nurses.
As a Nurse, you will be part of a dedicated team launching a new primary healthcare center in Gaza. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a high-need area while contributing to life-saving health services under Malteser International’s humanitarian mission.
Your responsibilities:
- Support the provision of basic and emergency healthcare in line with WHO standards and MI protocols.
- Support patient assessment, triage, diagnosis, and treatment under the supervision of a medical doctor.
- Administer medications, perform minor procedures (e.g., wound care, IV infusions), and assist with pharmacy dispensing when needed.
- Ensure accurate patient registration, documentation, and reporting as required.
- Promote patient safety, rights, and proper use of prescribed medications.
- Participate in health awareness sessions.
- Support referrals, provide emotional support to patients, and assist with other duties as assigned by the line manager.
Your profile:
- Certified nurse with a recognized diploma or degree in nursing
- Full nursing practice license.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in primary healthcare or emergency settings
- Strong knowledge of infection prevention, triage, and basic clinical procedures
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate approach to patient care
- Fluency in Arabic; English is an asset
- Basic computer skills (e.g., patient data entry, reporting)
What we offer:
- Start Date: As soon as possible
- Duty Station: Gaza City
- Duration of contract: until 31 December 2025 with possibility of extension
- Salary expectation: Salary according to qualification and experience
