In the Middle East Region, Malteser International (MI) is operating in the context of the humanitarian crisis in Syria since 2012 implementing emergency relief measures in Türkiye, Syria, and Lebanon and since 2014 in Iraq. MI’s programs cover needs mainly in the health sector and are mostly partner implemented. In the Holy Land, in the Holy Land, MI is coordinating the provision of primary health care services to affected communities.
For its support in the Holy Land, Malteser International is looking for a qualified Nurse with experience in providing nursing care, preferably in a clinical or humanitarian setting.
As a Nurse, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients, including assessment, treatment, monitoring, medication administration, and health education. You will maintain accurate clinical documentation and coordinate closely with doctors and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and quality patient care.
Your responsibilities:
- Provide basic and emergency nursing care at primary healthcare level, in accordance with WHO guidelines, international standards, and Malteser International SOPs.
- Assess, triage, examine, and monitor patients, including supporting triage during mass casualty incidents.
- Administer medications and intravenous infusions, provide medication instructions, and support basic medication dispensing under medical supervision.
- Provide care for minor trauma and non-trauma emergencies, including wound care, basic fracture management, and chronic disease care.
- Perform selected diagnostic procedures, collect samples, and maintain accurate patient registration and clinical documentation.
- Support patient referrals and work under the supervision of the Medical Doctor as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Provide health education and emotional support to patients and relatives, uphold patient rights and safety, contribute to reporting, and perform other duties assigned by the line manager.
Your profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited University.
- Full nursing practice license and certification.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to safeguarding, child protection, and disability inclusion principles.
What we offer:
- Start Date: As soon as possible
- Duty Station: Holy Land
- Duration of contract: Three months (with possibility of extension upon further project funding)
- Salary: Based on experience and qualifications, in accordance with MI’s salary scale
