In the Middle East Region, Malteser International (MI) is operating in the context of the humanitarian crisis in Syria since 2012 implementing emergency relief measures in Türkiye, Syria, and Lebanon and since 2014 in Iraq. MI’s programs cover needs mainly in the health sector and are mostly partner implemented. In the Holy Land, MI is currently in the set-up phase of health assistance to affected communities.
For its envisioned support in the Holy Land, Malteser International is looking for a qualified Program Coordinator with solid experience in program management, strategic planning, donor compliance, partnership coordination, and team leadership in complex humanitarian settings.
As Program Coordinator - National Position, you will play a key role in ensuring the programmatic, and operational oversight of our remote support in the Holy Land. You will lead program planning and implementation in line with MI strategies and donor requirements, supervise project teams, ensure quality and compliance across the project cycle, and strengthen partnerships and representation with relevant stakeholders. You will contribute to structured program development, sound budget oversight, coordinated teamwork, and risk-aware decision-making to enable effective and accountable program delivery
Your responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the implementation of all projects, ensuring alignment with MI strategy, donor requirements, and contextual needs
- Guide program planning processes and coordinate the development of high-quality concept notes and proposals in line with strategic priorities
- Monitor project budgets and expenditures in close coordination with Project Managers and Finance to ensure cost-efficient and compliant use of funds
- Work closely with the MEAL function to ensure effective monitoring, accountability, learning, and evidence-based program adjustments
- Develop and maintain constructive relationships with partners, authorities, donors, and coordination platforms, ensuring effective representation
- Supervise program staff support performance management, and foster a collaborative and accountable team environment
- Ensure full compliance with MI and donor regulations, oversee risk mitigation measures, and guarantee timely, accurate, and audit-ready program reporting
Your profile:
- Master’s degree in relevant disciplines.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in similar position with INGOs
- Excellent knowledge of Project Cycle Management
- Experience in budget management, MEAL, Partner implementation are assets
- Experience working with Partners and active engagement in cluster structures
- Excellent writing and reporting and computer skills (Microsoft Office package); KoBO, Power BI
- Excellent oral and written language skills in English and Arabic
What we offer:
- Start Date: As soon as possible
- Duty Station: Holy Land
- Duration of contract: 8 months (with possibility of extension upon further project funding)
- Salary: Based on experience and qualifications, in accordance with MI’s salary scale
