Since September 2017, Malteser International is operational in Bangladesh through local partner organizations. One program pillar is coordinated from Cox’s Bazar targeting health and nutrition support to Rohingya refugees living in refugee camps and supporting the host communities in coping with the disruptive environment created by the influx of refugees. Another program pillar is a localization program with a focus on strengthening capacities of local actors in humanitarian response, preparedness, coordination, and advocacy with partners working in different parts of the country. The third pillar is a development project for resilience strengthening of vulnerable population in North, West and East Bangladesh through a network approach of 6 partner organizations.
For its work in Dhaka, Bangladesh, Malteser International is looking for an Admin and Liaison Coordinator – National Position.
As the Admin and Liaison Coordinator, you will be responsible for MI’s office and team administration, ensuring statutory compliance; engaging with stakeholders, particularly government agencies and donors; as well as safety and security management. This position reports to the Country Representative and the Partner Program Coordinator in Bangladesh.
Your responsibilities:
- Manage office administration and HR functions, including documentation related to HR, administration, financial management, and compliance, in alignment with relevant laws in Bangladesh and MI’s requirements
- Support the development of internal policies related to office administration; facilitate internal HR communications; and coordinate with the HR department at MI Headquarters
- Serve as the primary liaison with government authorities, ensuring statutory compliance and obtaining all necessary government approvals for MI operations in Bangladesh; also provide support in liaising with donors
- Monitor security threats and coordinate emergency responses
- Periodically review and update Safety and Security Management Plan (SSMP) of MI-Bangladesh and lead its implementation with the support of Security Management Team
Your profile:
- Bangladeshi national, with excellent command of written and spoken Bangla and English
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (mandatory), with a master’s degree in HR, Finance, Accounting, Humanitarian Response, Disaster Management, or a related field desirable; higher-level professional certifications are an added advantage
- Minimum 4 years of professional experience in administration, HR, budgeting and accounting
- Proven experience in government liaison and statutory compliances
- Relevant experience in emergency aid and Safety and Security management is an advantage
- Strong knowledge of labour and taxation laws in Bangladesh and the regulations of the Non-Governmental Organization Affairs Bureau Bangladesh (NGOAB)
- Proficient in the usage of computers and MS office packages (word, excel, outlook, power point, teams etc.) and other relevant software
