Malteser International (MI) is a worldwide relief agency of the Sovereign Order of Malta. For over 60 years, we have provided relief and recovery during and following conflicts and disasters. Malteser International is a non-governmental organization with headquarters in Europe and America. The organization’s General Secretariat, as well as its European headquarters are in Cologne, Germany.

Since September 2017, Malteser International is operational in Bangladesh through local partner organizations. One program pillar is coordinated from Cox’s Bazar targeting health and nutrition support to Rohingya refugees living in refugee camps and supporting the host communities in coping with the disruptive environment created by the influx of refugees. Another program pillar is a localization program with a focus on strengthening capacities of local actors in humanitarian response, preparedness, coordination, and advocacy with partners working in different parts of the country. The third pillar is a development project for resilience strengthening of vulnerable population in North, West and East Bangladesh through a network approach of 6 partner organizations.

For its work in Dhaka, Bangladesh, Malteser International is looking for an Admin and Liaison Coordinator – National Position.

As the Admin and Liaison Coordinator, you will be responsible for MI’s office and team administration, ensuring statutory compliances, stakeholder engagement particularly government and donors, as well as safety and security management. The position will report to the Country Representative and Partner Program Coordinator, Bangladesh.  

Your responsibilities:

  • Manage office administration and HR functions, including documentation for HR, Admin, finance and compliance purposes in alignment with the relevant laws in Bangladesh and MI requirements

  • Act as the primary liaison for government authorities and ensure all statutory compliances and government approvals for MI in Bangladesh, as well as support in donor liaison

  • Support internal office administration related policy development, support internal HR communications and coordinate with HR department at MI HQ

  • Track security threats and coordinate emergency responses 

  • Review and update periodically the Safety and Security Management Plan (SSMP) of MI-Bangladesh and lead its implementation with the support of Security Management Team

Your profile:

 

  • A master’s degree in social science, HR, Finance, Accounting, Humanitarian Response, Disaster Management, or a related field is mandatory; Higher level professional certifications can further enhance prospects
  • A bachelor's degree in accounting (BBA/ B. Com) will be an added advantage, not mandatory
  • Strong knowledge of relevant laws in Bangladesh and NGOAB regulations
  • Proven experience in government liaison and statutory compliances
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant professional experience in emergency aid, development cooperation, safety and security, HR management, financial management, budgeting, and accounting 
  • Proficient in the usage of computers and MS office packages (word, excel, outlook, power point, teams etc.) and other computerized applications
  • Excellent command of written and spoken Bangla and English
