Malteser International has been working in Nigeria since 2017. In Northeast Nigeria and more specifically in Borno, Taraba and Adamawa States, MI is currently active in the WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene), Protection and FNSL sectors for saving and improving the lives of both the IDP/refugee populations as well as the host communities. The WASH activities focus on improved access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene, including NFI distribution, solarization of boreholes, rehabilitation of hand pumps, construction of latrines, and hygiene promotion. The protection activities focus on prevention and response to Gender Based Violence (GBV)  cases.

The Food Nutrition Security and Livelihood interventions mainly focus on micro gardening, pullet rearing for egg production, composting, and Nutrition (food demonstration, referrals of malnutrition cases to nutrition partners, and sensitisation on nutrition). Malteser International applies a participatory, gender-sensitive, and inclusive approach.

For our work in Katsina State, Nigeria, Malteser International is seeking a Logistics Assistant – National Position.

The Logistics Assistant will assist in ensuring the logistical needs of the Katsina Area are met, in close coordination with the Logistics Team at the Country Office.

Your responsibilities:

  • Provide overall support for logistics management at the Katsina location
  • Assist in implementing procurement and logistics procedures in line with organizational and donor regulations
  • Support preparation and processing of procurement documents, including bids and purchase requests
  • Follow up on Goods Received Notes (GRN) and Job Completion Certificates from program teams
  • Maintain proper filing systems and documentation for all logistics and procurement activities
  • Manage warehouse/store operations and ensure regular asset tagging and inventory updates
  • Coordinate vehicle requests, travel arrangements, and other logistical needs as required by the supervisor

Your profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics and Procurement, Business Administration, and or any related field of discipline
  • Minimum of 2–3 years relevant experience, preferably in an NGO or development sector
  • Basic knowledge of stock counts, assets, inventories, and fleet management

  • Duty Station: Katsina, Katsina State, Nigeria
  • Duration of contract: 10 months
  • Salary expectation: Salary according to the MI salary scale
