Malteser International is the international humanitarian relief agency of the Sovereign Order of Malta. For over 60 years we provide relief and recovery for people during and following conflicts and disasters around the world. Since the start of the war in eastern Ukraine in 2014, Malteser International has been working with three local partner organizations in the sector of mental health and psycho-social support (MHPSS). Following the full-scale invasion on 24 February 2022, Malteser International has expanded its humanitarian support rapidly to address the growing needs across the country in partnership with more than 8 local partners to provide critical support and relief to people affected by the crisis. Today, Malteser International’s humanitarian response includes distribution of food, hygiene items, winter kits, Shelter and MPCA to hard-to-reach areas in Eastern and Southern Ukraine to alleviate challenges and risk of people lives. The international network of the Order of Malta stands with the people affected by the war in Ukraine and will continue to do so for as long as help is required.
For its work in Ukraine Malteser International is looking for a MEAL Officer - National Position.
As MEAL Officer, you will provide regular oversight of program activities, ensuring they align with planned inputs, indicators, milestones, and targets. This role plays a critical part in the organization's ability to measure and communicate the impact of its programs, while also ensuring that lessons learned are integrated into future program designs and strategies.
Your responsibilities:
- Support communication, planning, and reporting by contributing to MEAL plan design during the proposal phase and the development and implementation of project M&E workplans with partners. Support ITT development, ensuring data quality and timely monthly reporting, reviewing partners’ MEAL reports, consolidating MEAL inputs for donor reports, and contributing to the documentation of learning
- Drive effective monitoring and evaluation by tracking project activities, outputs, and outcomes against indicators, documenting achievements and challenges, strengthening MEAL tools with partners, ensuring compliance with project and donor requirements, and conducting field and remote monitoring to enhance program quality and accountability
- Strengthen capacity building and information management by providing technical support to partners’ MEAL teams, assessing MEAL capacities, supporting the design and implementation of capacity-building plans and activities, and contributing to dashboard development, data analysis, and quarterly and annual reporting
Your profile:
- University degree or equivalent in the field of Social or Political Science, Development Studies, International relations, Project Management, and other relevant fields.
- Proven experience working in human sector, MEAL department or relevant fields.
- Proven organizational skills and ability to effectively manage multiple tasks while fostering quality, team spirit and positive working relationships with colleagues. Integrity in line with the Humanitarian Principles and Ethical Standards
- Very good computer and analytical skills are required.
- Good in written and spoken English and Ukrainian are required.
- At least 2 years of relevant working experience in humanitarian or development settings.
